Things age. Things break. Everything in this world passes. This is true of the hardware in our computers, as with anything else. There are many moving parts, and many parts that don't move anything more than information, but then, this is movement at a microscopic level. And, at these levels, if we could look deep down inside, we'd see that things are indeed moving quite a bit. That's why our computer hardware breaks down, even if we didn't hear anything, even if it doesn't look like something is broken. Desktop or 'tower' PC's are generally fairly simple to fix. If they are however, made by one of the major manufacturers, there can be some obstacles to overcome, and work arounds to be done in many cases. If it's something standard though, like a hard drive, a power supply, a dead CMOS battery, or a bad RAM chip, things can be fixed fairly simply, and affordably. If it's another drive as well, say a CD or DVD drive, those can be replaced without much hassle either. These are the things I search out to fix first when things go haywire. Laptops however, are a different story. There are some things on a laptop that can be replaced without special ordering something from the original manufacturer, but not too often. And, often, it can be so difficult to get into a laptop, it's best to send it to the original manufacturer. At any rate, contact me. I've done some pretty extreme things to fix things that were unfixable...and they got fixed. |
